Painters Savoyards / André Artigue
André Paul Artigue (1879-1956) - Born in Paris in 1879, the son of parents Savoy is quickly aware of the art. His father was also a professor of drawing. The young Andrew Artigue loves painting but it is music to turn it in the first place. The singer Melba pushed there. It is baritone and it is in the comic opera that awaits him. He sings solo at the Schola Cantorum. Lovers of music it is natural that he marry a pianist. But drawing and painting remains a part of his life. His father taught him the rudiments and especially the now famous "White Artigue. He also took classes by Gustave Moreau at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. It whereupon he exhibited in the capital but also in North America. Leaving Paris in 1919 to study Brittany, Provence and other parts of France, he moved in 1921 to finally Chambery. It exposes more than once in the regional events where he has success. Influenced by the painters of his time, he has a great deal of engineering at the influence of Japanese art. Artigue is characterized by its landscapes and its ouatés snowy villages where trees bear the weight of heavy snow.
